Typhoons cost almost P.5M damage in Mariveles

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in Mariveles reported last July 28 that damage to infrastructure, property, and agriculture reached to P453,446.07 since July 25, 2025 when floods, monsoon rain and typhoons hit the country.

This was bared during the post disaster analysis meeting called by Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion to identify the extent of damage caused by typhoons and to assess the present capability of thr Emergency Operation Center in protecting the public.

The MDRRMC reported that 21,095 food packs from the LGU and 7,143 from DSWD were distributed to residents affected by flood. The recipients included 2,507 farmers and fishermen whose means of livelihood were affected due to incessant rain.

Twelve evacuation centers served 1,123 individuals or 404 families whose houses were submerged in flood waters.

Mayor Concepcion said the Emergency Operation Center was reactivated, committees were formed and key personnel as well as focal persons were assigned to make preparations and plans of operation.
